New England just endured a full day of torrential rain. The weather was miserable and it rained so hard that there was no chance at all to go out to do any photography. So I stayed inside taking care of various tasks and other odd jobs that I kept previously avoiding all in the hopes of killing time until the rain would finally stop. After many hours of waiting, the drenching rains came to an end in the early evening. I stepped out onto my porch and the first thing I noticed was how QUIET it was! I enjoyed the silence and contemplated if I could somehow capture an image from right here where I stood on my porch. As I looked around for a while, nothing really stood out to me until I moved my attention to the ground at the base of the porch. There was a plant that was covered with water drops from the day's earlier downpour. The lighting at this time was soft and diffused so there were no harsh shadows being cast on the rich green stems. I grabbed my camera and took a couple of shots. Today was another example where you can always capture a new image even when the conditions don't appear to be conducive for great photography. Patience and determination is key.
